Uncertainty in the Estimation of Partial Safety Factors for Different Steel-Grade Corroded Pipelines

This paper assesses the uncertainty of partial safety factors for design corroded pipelines against burst failure due to variability associated with strength model selection. First, 10 calibrated pressure prediction models are adopted and duly categorised under low-, medium- high-grade steel classes. The probabilistic characteristics pipe studied using Monte Carlo simulation selected models. Model used correct predictions by equations. derived in each category that will provide coherent reliability. first-order reliability method is employed estimate their as a function operational time. Finally, influence corrosion growth on evaluation assessed. results obtained this study can vital guidance regarding maintenance different steel-grade pipelines.

Collapse of Corroded Pipelines under Combined Tension and External Pressure
In this work, collapse of corroded pipeline under combined external pressure and tension is investigated through numerical method. Axially uniform corrosion with symmetric imperfections is firstly considered. After verifying with existing experimental results, the finite element model is used to study the effect of tension on collapse pressure. An extensive parametric study is carried out using...
Minimizing Uncertainty in Pipelines
In this paper, we consider the problem of debugging large pipelines by human labeling. We represent the execution of a pipeline using a directed acyclic graph of AND and OR nodes, where each node represents a data item produced by some operator in the pipeline. We assume that each operator assigns a confidence to each of its output data. We want to reduce the uncertainty in the output by issuin...
